Oral Assessments
The initial visit will involve a comprehensive dental hygiene assessment. The dental hygienist will review your medical history, check your head and neck for any abnormalities, screen for oral cancer and perform a thorough dental hygiene examination of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth, as well as, an assessment of your oral hygiene.
The clinic is also equipped with a laser cavity detector to aid with determining if a referral to a dentist is indicated.
The combination of all gathered information will be used in formulating a dental hygiene diagnosis, which will then aid in developing goals and preparing a treatment plan specific to your needs.
If required, a referral will be made to a dentist or other health care providers for further assessment.
